The new MacBook Airs will have a 32-nanometer Sandy Bridge ultra-low-voltage Core i5 and Core i7 chips which can support a theoretical 8GB of RAM.

The latest generation of MacBook Air notebooks are scheduled to enter mass production sometime during this month itself, with an initial build volume hovering around 400,000 units.

Apple has reportedly placed orders for the production of 11.6 inch and 13.3 inch MacBook Airs. Fifty five per cent of the order would be of the 11.6 inch version, considering the wide popularity of the device and a lower $999 introductory price.
